Went to the Library yesterday, and not because I had anything on Hold. All Requests are still Pending. However, I did have a list. A list made from those I didn’t need to Request because the on-line catalogue said they were Checked-In.
From the Juvenile Fiction:
Faeries of Dreamdark: Blackbringer by Laini Taylor (I picked up the sequel, Dreamdark: Silksinger (not knowing it was a book 2 as usual) and so I found this one.)
Miss You, Mina by Denene Millner. Working from list Zetta Elliott provided on Fledgling. I am working on creating a page, look for the tab soon for the list. Miss You, Mina is part of a Summer Trilogy and I may or may not read the others. Finished it last night; a review post next week.
Prince Among Frogs by E.D. Baker. The latest from The Tales of the Frog Princess Series. A find. The daughter is steadily reading through these. N is reading several books right now; they are in every room and the car, bookmarked.
Ivy + Bean: What’s the Big Idea? by Annie Barrows. I still love the Ivy+ Bean books though we found them as N was moving out of those reads. We both get a kick out of them. And I adore Sophie Blackall’s Illustrations (have you seen her “Missed Connections” Blog?) A find.
From the Teen Section:
The Red Umbrella by Christina Diaz Gonzalez. Was in Teen section but listed for 10-12 at Powells… also from Fledgling list.
Airman by Eoin Colfer.
From the Adult Fiction Section:
Short Fiction by Hispanic Writers edited by Nicolas Kanellos. Had to find this one in Fiction filed first under Short (as if it were an author’s last name)–Yeah, that was a tricky one to find–thank you Mr. Librarian.
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley. Yes, everyone is reading or has read this and I can resist it no longer.

I see you have an Eoin Colfer book, have you read his Artemis Fowl books? They are fabulous. They are one of my daughter’s favorite series. I think she has a total of 3 or maybe 4 series that she adores.
I place holds on my books even if they are checked in. That way I don’t have to search them out myself. I am not a big fan of browsing especially with kids in tow.
How are you liking Dracula thus far?
I have read the first Artemis Fowl (a year or so now) and shortly after had the darnedest time getting the next one in the series. I will have to remedy that. I have read Half-Moon Detective Agency which I absolutely adore!
I rarely browse in the Library, and things shift around by the next time I do peruse the shelves, so I, too, tend to Request–there have been a few times the one copy I was expecting was Checked-In I saw in someone’s pile to check-out; on one occasion I was tempted to topple their stack and sneak the volume into mine–terrible, I know.
As for Dracula–I am enjoying it, but for the Hysterical Woman–thing. and the melodrama. and Van Helsing’s tendency to go on and on. Otherwise it is quite creepy! I am past the half-way point now.
Ah, the melodrama is part of the joy of Dracula, and all classic gothic fiction. 🙂

The Red Umbrella and Airman are both great. I loved Half Moon, I was hoping Colfer would turn that one into a series.
And its hard to resist a girl who has a passion for posions. Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie was very good.

Now that I finally finished Dracula, I think I will start on the acclaimed Sweetness.
